Design your hosted form

Every hosted form can have its own look. Open the form, go to the Builder tab and choose Design. The live preview beside the builder shows the real form as respondents see it, and refreshes a moment after each change.

Header

Option What it does
Header image Pick one of seven patterns drawn in your accent color, or upload your own image.
Height Short or Tall. Both show a crop of the same image.
Image position For uploaded images: which part stays visible when it is cropped (top, center or bottom).
Logo None, your form's first letter on the accent color, or an uploaded square logo.

Upload images as JPG, PNG or WebP, at least 1600 × 600 pixels and up to 8 MB. We store a large copy for computers and a smaller one for phones, so the form stays fast.

Colors

Option What it does
Accent color Buttons, the progress bar, selected answers and the patterns.
Page background Tint (a light wash of the accent), Solid (any color), Gradient, or Image (your header image or pattern across the whole page).
Light or dark Always light, always dark, or follow each visitor's own setting.

Button text switches between dark and white so it stays readable on any accent color, and the "Clear form" link picks a readable color for your background.

Style

Option What it does
Font The SendForm default, Figtree, Lora, Nunito, IBM Plex Sans, or a classic font such as Arial, Helvetica, Georgia, Times New Roman, Verdana, Trebuchet MS, Tahoma or Courier New. Classic fonts are already on every device and load instantly.
Corners Square, Rounded or Soft.

Email address and captcha

These change how the form works, so they live outside Design:

  • Questions → Email address: turn on Ask for an email address to show an email question first, and Required to make it mandatory. The address becomes the respondent's email in your inbox.
  • Settings → Spam & security → Require captcha: visitors who are not signed in tick a privacy-friendly captcha before their answers are accepted. Hidden bot checks run whether it is on or off.
